The Magic of Riverdance

April 29, 2026

Since Riverdance first emerged onto the world stage, its fusion of Irish and international dance and music has captured the hearts of millions worldwide. To celebrate it's incredible 30 year milestone, Riverdance is bringing a special anniversary tour to Walton Arts Center. This spectacular production rejuvenates the much-loved original show with new innovative choreography and costumes and state of the art lighting, projection and motion graphics. And for the first time Riverdance welcomes “The New Generation” of performers.

“The sort of spectacle and experience that comes along once in a lifetime”
— The Hollywood Reporter

John McColgan, director of Riverdance said “It is both a privilege and a delight to celebrate 30 years of Riverdance and the unique journey it has taken us on. In those 30 years the show has transformed from a spectacle into a global cultural phenomenon – continuously evolving yet remaining true to its Irish roots. On this upcoming tour we look forward to welcoming ‘The New Generation’ of artists while paying tribute to the talented performers, creators, dedicated crew and the millions of fans who have made Riverdance a worldwide celebration of music and dance.”

Every member of the touring cast for Riverdance 30 – The New Generation was not born when Riverdance first premiered 30 years ago as the Eurovision Song Contest Interval Act. This special 30th anniversary production welcomes an entirely new generation of dancers to the stage, some of whom have been dreaming of being a part of the Irish dance phenomenon since their youth. The legendary, innovative and exciting blend of dance, music and song is a must-see theatrical event!

Riverdance is back and better than ever!

Since its inception Riverdance has been seen by over 30 million people in over 49 countries, and the Riverdance family and its fan base hasn’t stopped growing since that first performance in 1994. Since then, the show has played over 16,000 performances and featured 1,500 Irish dancers. The various casts of the hit Irish dance show Riverdance have produced 72 marriages and 134 "Riverdance babies" - three of whom have now performed in the show.

Fun Fact: Riverdance also holds a Guinness World Record for the “Longest Riverdance Line.”

More Riverdance by the numbers:

Since the first show in Dublin, Riverdance also has:

• Played to a global television audience of more than 3.5 billion people.

• Sold three million copies of the Grammy Award®-winning album and 10 million Riverdance DVDs.

• Started the Riverdance summer in 2015 where 2,800 young dancers have attended and learned the iconic Riverdance steps.

From June 9-11, don’t miss the Grammy award-winning music and the infectious energy of its mesmerizing choreography and breathtaking performances that have left audiences in awe and established Riverdance as a global cultural sensation.
