THE BOOK OF MORMON
Kicking off this phenomenal Broadway season is The Book of Mormon. This show will christen the stage December 13-18. Named "The best musical of this century," by The New York Times, The Book of Mormon will certainly bring a punch of flavor to the WAC stage this winter. Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the creators of "South Park," and Robert Lopez, co-creator of "Avenue Q," have created a show that The Washington Post describes as "the kind of evening that restores your faith in musicals."
The Book of Mormon follows two young missionaries who are sent to Uganda to try to convert citizens to the Mormon religion. One missionary, Elder Price, is an enthusiastic go-getter with a strong dedication to his faith, while his partner, Elder Cunningham, is a socially awkward but well meaning nerd whose tendency to embroider the truth soon lands him in trouble. Upon their arrival in Africa, Elders Price and Cunningham learn that in a society plagued by AIDS, poverty and violence, a successful mission may not be as easy as they expected. Don't miss your chance to see this wildly hilarious adventure at Walton Arts Center this December.
A GENTLEMAN'S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER
The most celebrated musical of the 2013-14 Broadway season, Gentleman's Guide received ten 2014 Tony Awards nominations, eventually winning four awards: Best Musical, Direction of a Musical, Book of a Musical and Best Costume Design.

All the while, he juggles his mistress, his bride-to-be and the threat of landing behind bars. This roller coaster show of quick changes is sure to keep audiences laughing and entertained all evening.

MOTOWN THE MUSICAL
Don't unbuckle your seatbelt yet, our final stop on our Broadway journey is Motown The Musical, which comes to Walton Arts Center June 27-July 2. CBS Sunday Morning describes it as "More than a Broadway show. [It is] a celebration of music that transformed America!"
It began as one man's story... became everyone's music... and is now Broadway's musical. Motown The Musical is the true American dream story of Motown under founder Berry Gordy's journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight musical mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Smoky Robinson and many more. Featuring classic songs such as "My Girl" and "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," this musical experience has shattered barriers, shaped our lives and made us all boogie to the same beat.
